About Me:

Education & Background

In 2014 I graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology. Thus, my background lies largely in the mental health field, with a focus on trauma recovery, building resilience, and promoting positive, adaptive coping skills. I have provided mental health services in a variety of settings with a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I am passionate about working with children of all developmental abilities, children who display challenging behaviors, and children who may have experienced trauma. Prior to returning to graduate school to re-specialize in School Psychology I served as a School-Based Therapist working primarily with at-risk youth in several districts throughout the metro-east. Finally, in May 2020, after completing additional graduate coursework and a year-long internship, I graduated with a Specialist Degree in School Psychology. I am now a Licensed School Psychologist in the State of Illinois as well as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist through the National Association of School Psychologists.

Hobbies:

When I'm not working, you can find me spending time with my family & friends, playing with my giant Great Pyrenees puppy, binging a Netflix series, reading, traveling, hiking, or doing yoga.

Favorite Part of the Job:

I am passionate about working with children of differing ability levels, as well as those who struggle with challenging behaviors, strong emotions, and who may have experienced trauma. I enjoy providing students with evidence-based therapeutic supports, including mindfulness & other cognitive-behavioral techniques.
